Artistic research is an emerging branch of research in the arts, which operates in and through artistic practices. Jazz researchers have emphasized the need for an independent, international network to develop the field. This symposium inaugurates the network, provides opportunities for discussions and offers a range of presentations by experienced and emerging artist scholars on a variety of relevant themes and topics.
