  • 1992 - 1993: Studies in jazz guitar at the American Institute Of Music, Vienna, with Les Wise, graduation from the “AIM Jazz Program” with internally-recognised diploma in March 1993 and with “Professional Diploma” in November 1993
  • 1995 - 1996: Studies in jazz guitar at the Vienna Conservatory, Graduation with diploma exam in artistic main subject in November 1996
  • 2004 - 2005: Participation in various training seminars regarding pedagogical and personal development topics

Work Experience

  • 1994: Production of the CD Mochmann Knapp Weichinger with the Trio of the same name, featuring 11 original compositions
  • Since 1994: freelance musician with live performances and CD productions with various groups and ensembles: Oliver Mochmann Trio, Rouge Tabouge, Vienna Jazz Formation, Sam Brisbe, and others
  • 1998: recipient of the Jazz Foundation Prize of Ingolstadt (Bavaria) in the framework of 15th “Ingolstädter Jazzdays” Festival
  • 1998: production of the CD Turn the Grey Sky Blue with the trio Mochmann Knapp Weichinger with 12 original compositions
  • Compositions and live music for TV-Shows: "Gull-Night-Show" (Pilot production of “Sternstunden Film”) and "Splash" (Musical Direction, 5 Episodes for ORF in summer 1998)
  • 2008 - 2009: About 100 performances as a guitarist, flautist and backing singer in the band of singer Sam Brisbe for Magic Life Clubs in Turkey and in Egypt
  • Since 2008: Annually more than 50 performances with the duo formed with Sam Brisbe in Austria
  • Since 2010: Production of videos for his own YouTube-Channel, mainly with original compositions mostly for two acoustic guitars and German flute, so far more than 1 Million views and over 5000 subscribers. 

Teaching & Research

  • since 2015: JAM MUSIC LAB - Conservatory for Jazz and Popular Music Vienna
  • since 2013: publication (programming and providing content) of the website – lessons focusing on chords for guitar, chord-finder, interactive fingerboard graphs and quizzes about chord types, derivation of chords from related chords, chord progressions, extended chords etc.. Development of an algorithm, which provides syntactically correct chord symbols to each chord. The page is bilingual (German/English).
  • 1998 – 2002: Lessons at the Vienna Conservatory (Private Conservatory with public status)
  • 1995 - 1999: Lecturer at the Music School Pöchlarn (Lower Austria)
