MUSIC PRODUCTION FOR TODAY’S MEDIA ERASMUS+ - BLENDED INTENSIVE PROGRAMME
How is music created for films, games and international record releases? What do professional production processes look like across different areas of today’s industry? And how do technology, composition and artistic practice come together in contemporary music production?
From 26 April to 1 May 2027, the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University for Jazz and Popular Music Vienna (JMLU) will host the international Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme “Music Production for Today’s Media.”
Organised by JAM MUSIC LAB’s Media Music Department, this intensive workshop week will bring together approximately 22 students from Erasmus+ partner universities, along with guest students from our partner university in Taiwan. Participants will spend the week learning, creating and working together in Vienna.
Exploring Music Production for Today’s Media
The programme explores music production across film, games, songwriting and the international music industry.
Through workshops, practical sessions and collaborative projects, students will gain insight into current professional workflows and production techniques. They will also have the opportunity to exchange ideas with professionals from the international film and music industries and work alongside students from different countries and musical backgrounds.

- Dolby Atmos and immersive audio
- Mastering for international record labels
- Production techniques at the intersection of technology and composition
The programme combines hands-on workshops, collaborative projects, professional insights and international exchange.

Blended Programme Format
As an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme, the physical mobility period in Vienna will be preceded by a virtual session. This online component will introduce participants to the programme and prepare them for their collaborative work in Vienna.
Information for Students
The BIP is open to students from Erasmus+ institutions studying Media Music, Music Production, Sound Production or related subjects.
Places are limited. Students are selected by their home institution, which then nominates the chosen participants to JAM MUSIC LAB Private University.

We also welcome staff members from participating institutions.
Depending on the number of students nominated by their institution, staff members may join the programme either as teaching staff or as BIP participants.
