Where Music and Medicine Meet: A Special Evening at C. Bechstein
Music and medicine came together for a warm evening at the Concert Bar of the C. Bechstein Centrum Wien. The occasion was the retirement celebration of Dr. Ahmadolla Abdelrahimsai, a member of the JAM MUSIC LAB University Council, who concluded his long-standing work as Senior Physician at Sanatorium Hera in Vienna.
Colleagues from the medical field and artists from JAM joined the celebration, creating a lively exchange between two worlds that share more than one might initially expect: dedication, sensitivity and the ability to connect with people.
Alongside his medical career, Dr. Abdelrahimsai has been involved in scientific, ethical, cultural and charitable initiatives for many years. His experience in healthcare, management and organisational development also makes him a valued member of the JAM MUSIC LAB community.
A New Stage for Young Musicians in Vienna
The evening also reflected the close relationship between JAM MUSIC LAB and C. Bechstein, one of the university’s partners. In the future, the Concert Bar plans to host six concerts per week, including performances by musicians from JAM MUSIC LAB and the Friedrich Gulda School of Music Vienna.
This collaboration creates new performance opportunities for emerging artists and further enriches the scene for live music in Vienna. For students at a music university in Vienna, performing in front of a live audience is an essential part of artistic development—and spaces such as the Concert Bar make these encounters possible.
