Library
The library of JAM MUSIC LAB Private University for Jazz and Popular Music Vienna provides students and faculty with an extensive and continually expanding collection of around 10,000 items, including books, LPs, CDs, and more, to support study, teaching, and research. Its on-site holdings cover a wide range of music-related subjects, including music education, jazz history (with a particular focus on Europe and Austria), jazz composition, vocal studies, music encyclopedias, and jazz theory. The library also houses bachelor’s and master’s theses by the university’s graduates, making it a valuable resource for both academic inquiry and artistic development.
To search within the library’s own holdings, please use our online catalog. In addition to a CD player, users have access to an iMac workstation for digital resources. Alongside physical materials, we also provide our students with access to renowned online resources such as The Oxford History of Music, Grove Music Online, and Musik in Geschichte und Gegenwart (MGG).
Please note that borrowing of media is currently not permitted. In addition to serving the students and faculty of JAM MUSIC LAB Private University, the university library is open to all members of Austrian universities, private universities, and universities of applied sciences, as well as to individuals with a primary residence in Austria who have an interest in the arts and academia.
The library’s ISIL, used for integration into union catalogs as well as for interlibrary loan and data exchange, is AT-JAM
