ENOCCHIO Celebrates Its World Premiere in Vienna

Pinocchio was made of wood. Enocchio is made of code.

On 16 October 2026 at 19:30, the new Austrian pop-rock musical ENOCCHIO will celebrate its world premiere at Kulturgarage Seestadt in Vienna. Through rock, pop, funk, hip-hop and jazz, this musical about artificial intelligence asks a deeply human question: How is AI changing our lives, our work and our understanding of what it means to be human?

Enocchio is an advanced android created by Geppetto to solve humanity’s problems and make the world a better place. Rational, intelligent and free from human weaknesses, he is sent out to discover what makes someone a good person. Instead, he encounters a world of contradictions—love and loneliness, ambition and fear, creativity and commerce, friendship and betrayal.

Behind the story lies another remarkable journey. ENOCCHIO began as a research project at JAM MUSIC LAB University, exploring whether a large group of young musicians could compose a musical together. Ideas were developed, tested, rejected and transformed until individual contributions became one shared musical language.

The process gave the participating artists practical experience in composition, arrangement, ensemble work and music-theatre production. We are delighted to see a project that began as an experiment at JAM grow into a complete stage production.

ENOCCHIO is now presented as a joint production by One Voice Lab, IFSÖ and Junge Theater Wien. It neither warns against artificial intelligence nor promotes it. Instead, it opens a space for reflection and conversation about technology, creativity and society.
