Michael Kahr selected as new member of the AEC PJP Working Group
JMLU is proud to announce that Dr. Michael Kahr, Professor for Artistic Research, Dean and Chair of the Center for Artistic Research, has been selected as a new member of the AEC Pop Jazz Platform Working Group for a three-year term until 2028. The working group aims to promote and support Higher Education in popular music and jazz by addressing educational, pedagogical, musical, and professional issues related to genre diversity.
JMLU has been an institutional member of the Association Européenne des Conservatoires, Académies de Musique et Musikhochschulen (AEC), which functions as a European cultural and educational network with around 300 member institutions for professional music training in 57 countries.
The AEC Pop and Jazz Platform (PJP) Meeting is an annual meeting organized by the AEC. The current call for contributions to the next AEC PJP Meeting at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki on 12 – 15 February 2026 is open until 7 November 2025.
