Language Skills for Successful Studies

Good language skills are an important foundation for successful studies and effective communication with teachers, fellow students, and professional partners.

The required language level depends on the degree programme and follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

• Bachelor of Arts in Music
  B1 German or English at the admission test, or no later than the end of the 2nd semester
• Bachelor of Arts in Music Education
  B2 German or English at the admission test, or no later than the end of the 2nd semester
• Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management
  B2 English at the admission test
• Master of Arts in Music
  B2 German or English at the admission test, or no later than the end of the 1st semester
• Master of Arts in Music Education
  B2 German or English at the admission test
• Artistic Doctoral Programme
  C1 German or English at the admission test, or no later than the end of the 1st semester

Language Certificates

If you already hold a recognised language certificate, you may submit it during the admission process.
