Amadeus Nominations 2026: JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna Lecturers and Alumni in the Spotlight

JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna celebrates several outstanding nominations for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award 2026. Among the nominees are Marina Zettel (Marina and the Cats), lecturer at JAM, as well as JAM alumni Bobby “Slivo” Slivovsky (5/8erl in Ehr’n) and OSKA.

Marina Zettel and Slivovsky are nominated in the category Jazz – World – Blues. For 5/8erl in Ehr’n, this could mark their seventh Amadeus in this category — a remarkable achievement in Austrian music history. OSKA is nominated in the Alternative category. Following her previous awards (Best Sound in 2022 and Alternative in 2025), this could become her third Amadeus.

These nominations highlight the artistic excellence and stylistic diversity cultivated, taught, and developed at JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna.

Marina Zettel – Marina and the Cats (Lecturer in Vocals at JAM)

Marina Zettel is a singer, songwriter, and vocal lecturer at JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna. With her band Marina and the Cats, she has established a vibrant blend of vintage jazz, swing, rock’n’roll, and contemporary songwriting. Her powerful voice and captivating stage presence are central to the band’s distinctive identity.

The band tours internationally, performs at renowned festivals, and has built a loyal audience through several album releases. Their music combines virtuosity, joy of performance, and a modern take on traditional genres.

Bobby “Slivo” Slivovsky – 5/8erl in Ehr’n (JAM Alumni)

Bobby “Slivo” Slivovsky is a musician, lyricist, producer, and alumnus of JAM MUSIC LAB Private University Vienna. As a key figure in 5/8erl in Ehr’n, he helped shape a sound often described as “Viennese Soul” — a unique blend of soul, jazz, Viennese song tradition, and poetic lyricism.

The band has been one of the most influential voices in the Austrian music scene for years. Their multiple Amadeus awards in the Jazz – World – Blues category demonstrate their artistic consistency and relevance. Another award in 2026 would be their seventh in this category.

OSKA (JAM Alumni)

Singer-songwriter OSKA (read here our interview with her) is also a JAM alumna who has rapidly gained international recognition in the indie and alternative music scene. With her distinctive voice, minimalist arrangements, and emotional depth, she reaches audiences far beyond Austria. Tours across Europe and the United States, major festival appearances, and strong international media presence characterize her career. Her previous Amadeus wins and current nomination further underline her artistic success.
