JAM Master´s Student Nina Feldgrill is nominated for the Austrian Jazz Prize!

Nina Feldgrill (*1999), an accomplished e-bassist and composer from Vienna, has quickly made her mark on the Austrian jazz scene. With a Bachelor's degree in Jazz-Bass from the Music and Arts Private University of Vienna (MUK, 2023) and an ongoing Master's in Bass at the Jam Music Lab University (JMLU), her academic journey is impressive. She also holds a BA in Jazz Instrumental and Vocal Pedagogy (IGP) from MUK. In 2024, she was awarded the prestigious Ö1 Jazz Scholarship, further solidifying her standing in the jazz world.  

Since the age of 15, Nina has collaborated with prominent figures in the Austrian jazz community, including Thorsten Kugi and Oliver Gattringer. Currently, she is involved in multiple projects, such as the Emma Robatjazy Project and Viberqueen, while also leading her own ensembles. With her quartet *River*, she has achieved significant success, including releases with international label Skydeck Music, the *arte4artists* prize, and performances at renowned venues like Porgy & Bess and festivals such as Outreach Festival, Herbstgold Festival, and Jazzhochburg Kärnten. Her discography includes releases with *River* (CD), Unterköfler/Feldgrill (EPs), and Viberqueen (EPs), showcasing her diverse artistic reach and passion for musical innovation.
