Monika Herzig featured on OE1's Jazznight

The Ö1 Jazznacht, May 30, 2026, 11pm will broadcast a feature presentation of Vice Rector/ Professor of Artistic Research Monika Herzig’s new album Transparent https://oe1.orf.at/programm/20260530#832808/Monika-Herzig-ueber-Transparent . The program, produced by Marlene Schnedl, features music from the new album and conversations on the compositions written in response to rising Transphobia and social concerns. Transparent is a Jazz Road Creative Residency project and was released in March 2026 on the New York Key of B Label. The album features compositions by Monika Herzig and guest appearances by saxophonist Ted Nash, former first alto chair of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Since its release the album is also in the Top 20 of the US Jazz Radio Charts, peaking at #4 and will be featured in the August DownBeat Magazine edition. In addition, the Jazznacht feature will  include updates on the current Creative EU Project New Standards from Europe with PI Monika Herzig, Jam Music Lab University in collaboration with Schott Musikverlag and MIDJ Italy. The Real Book compilation of works by 101 female jazz composers is set to be released on April 30, 2027, International Jazz Day. 

Monika Herzig will present a night of music by Chick Corea on June 11 at Vienna’s Porgy & Bess. The Transparent project will be on tour in Europe October 9 - 16 with concerts in Berlin, Bayreuth, Hannover, Karlsruhe, and Tallinn. More info at www.monikaherzig.com
