phonoECHOES 2021: Competition for sound art, electronic music & improvisation

The Austrian Composers Association (formerly ÖKB) in cooperation with Klanghaus Untergreith announces for the second time phonoECHOES, the competition for sound art, electronic music and improvisation.

In 2021, the focus will be on free, non-tonal improvisation.

Works from the fields of free improvisation and transmedial/trans-disciplinary concepts can be submitted. There are no requirements regarding the instrumentation. However, the instrumentation or a technical rider must be announced with the submission. Ensemble pieces may also be submitted. The submitted work must be created independently, although team work is possible, and may have a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

Eligible to participate are all musicians, without age restriction, whose center of life is in Austria.

Our Dean of Music Education and Head of Master Studies (Music Education) Richard Graf will be part of the jury.
