Welcome Monika Ballwein to JAM MUSIC LAB Private University!
With great excitement, we at JAM MUSIC LAB Private University are delighted to announce that the renowned singer and vocal coach Monika Ballwein will join our team as a vocal instructor starting in the winter semester of 2025.
A Life Dedicated to Music
Monika Ballwein began her professional singing career at a young age and has since set standards in the Austrian and international music scene. She has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Rainhard Fendrich, Udo Jürgens, Christina Stürmer, Nina Hagen, Chaka Khan, Hans Zimmer, and Al Jarreau. Her voice is featured on more than 1,500 music productions and is the signature sound of over 20 radio stations in Austria and Germany.
On stage, Monika has also excelled in leading roles in musicals such as Hair and A Tribute to Abba. Additionally, she performed as a soloist with the "Dancing Stars Orchestra" in the Austrian TV show of the same name.
Eurovision Song Contest – A signature mark
Monika Ballwein has been deeply connected to the Eurovision Song Contest, whether as a background singer, vocal coach, or mentor. Highlights of her Eurovision journey include:
- 2014: Vocal coach for Conchita Wurst ("Rise Like a Phoenix")
- 2023 & 2024: Vocal coach for Austria’s acts Pia Maria and Kaleen
- Numerous appearances as a background singer between 1997 and 2013.
Teaching and innovation
In addition to her stage career, Monika has inspired generations of singers since 2004 through her own vocal academy. She is a certified CVT Vocal Coach and has developed innovative teaching methods, such as the vocal workout Move Your Voice, which has been officially recognized by Austria’s Ministry of Education.

- 2023: Lower Austrian Culture Award
- 2022: Golden Badge of Honor from the Province of Lower Austria
