Jazz Prize Brunch – Exclusive Kickoff for Outstanding Artists of the Austrian Jazz Scene!

As part of the inaugural Austrian Jazz Prize, the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University is hosting the first exclusive Jazz Prize Brunch – an event for invited guests only. This brunch not only marks a premiere but also celebrates a milestone in Austrian jazz history.

After extensive efforts, the Austrian Jazz Prize will be launched in 2024, inspired by international models. The prize honors outstanding artists who make significant contributions to the jazz scene. The JAM MUSIC LAB Private University, dedicated to the history and advancement of jazz and all its forms of improvisation, is proud to support this important initiative.

Exclusive Event for the Jazz Community

Guests at the Jazz Prize Brunch can look forward to a unique program: a delightful brunch accompanied by live musical performances, nominees for the jazz prize, long-established artists, and surprise guests. The winners of the Jazz Prize will be announced on November 5 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and can be personally met during this brunch.

Guests can expect:

• Nominees for the Jazz Prize, established artists from the scene, and surprise guests
• The opportunity to personally meet the awardees of the Jazz Prize, who will be honored at Porgy & Bess at the end of October.

Austrian Jazz Prize 2024 – An Important Impulse for the Music Landscape

The Austrian Music Council (ÖMR), in collaboration with mica-music austria, the Ö1 Jazz Editorial Team, IG World Music, and Porgy & Bess, has established the Austrian Jazz Prize to enhance visibility for the national music scene. The prize is supported by the Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Service, and Sports (BMKÖS), the City of Vienna (MA 7), the JAM MUSIC LAB Private University, and Romedius GmbH.

The prize will be awarded in three categories:

• Best Live Act
• Best Album
• Best Newcomer
